A man has been charged after refusing to wear a mask and allegedly intimidating police at Perisher Ski Resort.

About 10am yesterday the man, 43, approached a ski lift and was asked to cover his face to comply with the resort’s COVID safety plan, NSW Police said.

It is alleged the man refused and became argumentative with staff. He was asked to leave the resort and when he didn’t, police were called.

Officers from Monaro Police District attended and spoke with the man, before telling him to leave. He complied and left in a grey Toyota Hilux.

A short time later, police were in their car near Prussian Creek on Kosciusko Road, when the same man allegedly drove past beeping his horn, before swerving across the road.

The man was stopped by police a short distance away, where he allegedly refused to take a breath test.
