Coronavirus may be treated by drug for CATS as it already fights similar feline virus, firm hopes NewsColony A START-UP based in Singapore are testing a drug to cure coronavirus which has successfully treated  leukaemia and coronavirus in cats. The drug, known as Retromad1, has proven effective in treating the virus’ which are both deadly to cats. Retromad1 has been used in Singapore to treat the deadly virus in cats The feline infectious peritonitis virus is a coronavirus which is in the same family as the Covid-19 disease in humans. According to Dr Ng Cher Yew, the CEO of Biovalence Technologies, the drug which they have developed is being used in veterinary clinics in Singapore. The drug had originally been invented to treat herpes in humans thought it had not been officially tested for human use.
