All nations should exercise extreme caution while re-opening their borders when the novel coronavirus pandemic begins to subside, said Michael Ryan, the executive director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Health Emergencies Programme. “When we talk about opening up and reducing lockdowns, there’s also the question of how people begin to move internationally,” he said. “Obviously, they need to move between countries, and it’s going to become more and more of an issue and more and more of a challenge.
