NewsColony Video shows man releasing mouse moments before it’s caught by hawk A mouse was just seconds into its freedom when it was snatched up by a hungry hawk.  In a video that was recorded on Friday in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a man is seen preparing to set the mouse free after catching it in a humane mousetrap.  The mouse immediately took off running as the man and his six-year-old son watched.  But within a matter of seconds, a hawk swooped in for a meal that wasn’t hard to catch.  According to the man, the mouse had been ‘eating the food dropped by our 1-year-old daughter for weeks when we finally caught it with a live trap’.  ‘My 6-year-old son thought it was very cute and wanted to keep it as a pet. I explained to him that it would be happy outside.
