Ginsburg, 87, underwent ‘non-surgical treatment for acute cholecystitis, a gallbladder condition’ on Tuesday afternoon at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, the Supreme Court said in a statement. After listening to oral arguments on Monday, Ginsburg went to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC, and underwent outpatient tests which confirmed she was suffering from a gallstone that blocked her cystic duct and caused an infection. ‘The Justice is resting comfortably and plans to participate in the oral argument teleconference tomorrow remotely from the hospital,’ the statement said. ‘She expects to stay in the hospital for a day or two.’ This is a developing story.
