Coronavirus Australia: Grand Prix cancelled hours before race NewsColony Thousands of racing fans have slammed Formula One after the Australian Grand Prix was cancelled at the last-minute due to coronavirus fears. Formula One confirmed the cancellation in a joint statement with FIA and AGPC at 10.08am on Friday, less than two hours before cars were set to hit the track for the first practice session.   The cancellation came after the McLaren team withdrew from the Melbourne event because a team member tested positive to COVID-19.
