Anglicare Newmarch House reported a third death yesterday evening, a 92-year-old woman. The Newmarch House cluster now totals 42 people, including 28 residents and 14 staff. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian today said Newmarch House underlined the “devastating consequences” of the virus in an aged-care facility. Workers and visitors had to be “especially vigilant” for symptoms, she said. The premier detailed the balance between even tighter social restrictions on aged-care facilities and visits by family. It would be “unthinkable” to suggest loved ones could not have access to parents and grandparents, she said.
