Michael Caputo, a Republican political aide from New York who assisted in Donald Trump ‘s 2016 campaign, also made derogatory remarks geared towards Democrats and media critical of the president’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Last week, Caputo was appointed as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at HHS.
