The Australian supermarket giant’s delivery services were slowed in mid-March as the nation went into lockdown to curb the spread of the virus. But store bosses announced on Wednesday that a 7,000 sq/m warehouse in Melbourne had been set up to service an extra 5,000 online orders per week. More than 5,000 new drivers were also hired to add tens of thousands of home delivery windows to meet a soaring demand for online groceries across the country.
