New South Wales records another 14 new coronavirus cases

New South Wales has recorded another 14 new cases of coronavirus, including six more linked to a funeral cluster.

The state has now recorded a total of 3,510 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Six of the new cases are linked to a cluster which began at a funeral, while a further four are connected to Thai Rock at Wetherill Park in Sydney’s west.

One of the new cases has been linked to the cluster at the Thai Rock restaurant in Potts Point, while another staff member at the nearby Apollo restaurant also tested positive to the deadly respiratory infection.

In addition, one case was acquired in Victoria and is currently in isolation, and one is a returned traveller in hotel quarantine.

New South Wales Health announced on Monday night night everyone who attended The Apollo restaurant at Potts Point from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 July should self isolate for 14 days from the date of their visit.

Any patrons who develop symptoms are urged to get tested, while any residents in the Potts Point region are also urged to seek testing.

There are now 75 cases associated with Thai Rock Wetherill Park, 56 cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel cluster, eight cases associated with Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, and 15 associated with the funerals.

Three cases have been linked to Thai Rock in Potts Point.

Mounties on Meadows Road and the Pritchard’s Hotel, both in Mount Pritchard, have also closed after a customer went to both venues while infected.

There are currently 101 patients who are seeking treatment for COVID-19, according to New South Wales Health.

Five of those patients are in intensive care, and one is on a ventilator.
