Fans of the mythical K-drama ‘Hotel Del Luna’ may be sad that the series has ended but are you willing to give a westernised adaptation of the show a chance?

According to South Korean publication Soompi, the production company and studio behind the show – CJ ENM and Studio Dragon have signed a strategic partnership with American production company Skydance Media for joint investment in and production of global dramas and films in February.

And among the first shows to kick of their partnership is the hit 2019 K-drama ‘Hotel Del Luna.’

The American remake will be written by Alison Schapker, the co-showrunner and executive producer of season two of Netflix’s ‘Altered Carbon’.

“We believe ‘Hotel Del Luna’ will enhance the reputation of Korean storytelling around the world by showcasing the global appeal of our local stories,” said Park Hyun, head of Studio Dragon’s global division.

‘Hotel Del Luna’ or also known as the full moon hotel stars singer IU as the titular character Jang Man-wol as the hotel owner and Yeo Jin Goo as Koo Chan-Sung, the hotel manager.

The special hotel hosts all kinds of ghosts who have unresolved issues on Earth before departing to the afterlife and is also ran by ghosts with the exception of one human hotel manager.

So fans, what do you think? Will it live up to the awesome-ness of the original series or will it flop?
