Coronavirus LIVE: US death toll hits 17 as second Covid-19 fatality confirmed in UK

CORONAVIRUS has claimed the lives of two more Americans – taking the death US death toll to 17 as a second Briton also succumbed to the disease.

The two US victims were in their 70s and had recently returned to Florida after travelling overseas, according to the Florida Department of Health.

At least one of them had underlying health issues.

In the UK, cases have soared to 164 – as a second UK death in connection with the deadly flu was confirmed.

The male patient at Milton Keynes hospital died after being admitted on March 3 with suspected pneumonia.

Last night Chris Whitty, the UK’s chief medical officer admitted the NHS likely doesn’t have enough beds to cope with rapidly approaching coronavirus cases as the UK braces for a mass-outbreak.
