Michael Moore warns Trump could win as poll shows popularity among swing state voters is on the rise

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore is warning that Democrats seem to be engaging in the same election-losing mistakes they did in 2016, after new polls show President Trump‘s popularity amongst swing state voters is on the rise.

Back in 2016, Moore was one of a handful of political activists who had predicted that Trump would defeat Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton at the polls.

In his Friday Facebook post, Moore indicated that it was starting to look like Trump could pull off another win and urged people to register to vote.

‘Sorry to have to provide the reality check again, but when CNN polled registered voters in August in just the swing states, Biden and Trump were in a virtual tie. In Minnesota, it’s 47-47. In Michigan, where Biden had a big lead, Trump has closed the gap to 4 points,’ Moore wrote.

He then asked: ‘Are you ready for a Trump victory? Are you mentally prepared to be outsmarted by Trump again? Do you find comfort in your certainty that there is no way Trump can win? Are you content with the trust you’ve placed in the DNC to pull this off?’

Moore noted that the confidence was misplaced, as it seemed like the Democrats are heading down the path of making the same mistakes they made during Clinton’s campaign.

‘The Biden campaign just announced he’ll be visiting a number of states— but not Michigan. Sound familiar?’ he asked.

Clinton was heavily criticized for not putting enough time and attention into swing states Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, which observers blamed in part for costing her the election. The traditionally Democrat states wound up going to Trump by very thin margins.

Pennsylvania and Michigan last voted Republican in 1988 with George HW Bush, while Wisconsin hadn’t gone red since 1984 with Ronald Reagan.

Moore then got to the crux of the matter.

‘I’m warning you almost 10 weeks in advance. The enthusiasm level for the 60 million in Trump’s base is OFF THE CHARTS! For Joe, not so much,’ Moore wrote.

‘Don’t leave it to the Democrats to get rid of Trump. YOU have to get rid of Trump. WE have to wake up every day for the next 67 days and make sure each of us are going to get a hundred people out to vote. ACT NOW!’

Moore accompanied his Facebook post with a screenshot of the poll results, showing Biden at 49 per cent and Trump at 48 per cent among registered voters in battleground states.

Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin are considered swing or battleground states because votes are often very close between candidates in those states.

In October 2016, just weeks before the election, Moore – a Bernie Sander supporter – had told attendees at a screening that ‘Trump’s election is going to be the biggest ‘f**k you’ ever recorded in human history — and it will feel good,’ Moore said, according to Salon, while referring to lower- and middle-class voters who felt like they were being ignored.

‘Whether Trump means it or not is kind of irrelevant because he’s saying the things to people who are hurting, and that’s why every beaten-down, nameless, forgotten working stiff who used to be part of what was called the middle class loves Trump,’ Moore said.

‘He is the human Molotov cocktail that they’ve been waiting for, the human hand grenade that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them.’

NewsColony Volunteers book hotel room for homeless man with SingapoRediscovers vouchers © The Independent Singapore Singapore — A group of volunteers from the Mummy Yummy Singapore welfare organisation donated their SingapoRediscovers Vouchers to book a hotel room for a homeless man. The man, who was identified as Jayden, did not have a place to live while waiting for the Housing Board (HDB) to allocate him a rental flat. In a Facebook post on Mummy Yummy Singapore’s page on Wednesday (Dec 16), the volunteers said: “We used our $100 Rediscover Singapore vouchers to redeem hotel stay for him and successfully booked 9 days worth of stay at 3 days per voucher.” They added that they were unable to book a longer stay because of higher hotel rates over Christmas and New Year. The volunteers hoped that they would be able to bridge Jayden’s stay until he got a flat. “Thanks our government for giving us these vouchers which in return we can put them to good use for people in need,” th...

NewsColony JANE FRYER: The judo master who made me the fall guy… aged 97! Jane Fryer is pictured above with Jack Hearn. ‘See, I’d get you round the neck and press on your Adam’s apple,’ he grins, silver moustache bobbing, white teeth flashing. ‘ And if I carried on with that, you’d be dead in a minute’ There is a startling moment in Jack Hearn’s extremely spick and span kitchen, when I’m standing between his trophy table and the wall and he’s telling me how he could finish me off with his huge, bearlike paws. ‘See, I’d get you round the neck and press on your Adam’s apple,’ he grins, silver moustache bobbing, white teeth flashing. ‘ And if I carried on with that, you’d be dead in a minute.’ We have already had a lively discussion about whether he should, or should not, throw me over one of his surprisingly wide shoulders on to his beautifully vacuumed living room floor. ‘I could throw you, of course I could! But I won’t,’ he says.  ‘It’s not fair — you don’t know...
